Workshop Background:

This will be the IWPC's 33rd workshop on wireless portable and mobile device topics since 1998.

LTE is fast becoming the future high speed mobile wireless network.  There are many challenges facing the carriers, mobile handset, data device and embedded device industries to maximize the benefit to the enterprise and consumer customer and to create profits for the carriers and the supply chain.

The big question that everyone is asking - what will these new devices be used for?  What will the enterprise and consumer do with all this additional speed and bandwidth?

And - how will these uses impact the design and development of these devices and their underlying technologies?

Workshop Goals:

LTE Device Week is designed to answer 3 questions:

  • Identify or clarify Use Cases, Uses and Usage Profiles of LTE Devices.

  • Identify what device power management prediction models are available or will be available. And/or – what is needed from the industry to develop same?

  • Identify current and future technology solutions for power management – in all of the device functional blocks. (from antennas to displays and everything in-between)

By bringing together the entire wireless industry hardware and software supply chain in one room at one time, we hope to address these questions and arrive at some clarity.
