Introduction

As the global spectrum squeeze continues, 3.4GHz -3.6GHz, which was identified by WRC-07 as spectrum for 4G, is receiving a high level of industry attention. Softbank has already deployed a carrier grade small cell network in Tokyo and will demonstrate this to the Global IWPC Community during this workshop. IWPC members will receive Asian, European, North and South American viewpoints on how these bands will be utilized across the world, with the aim to identify key steps for successful commercialization of LTE-Advanced in these higher bands.

Workshop Goals

  • Understand how 3.4-3.6 GHz is important for mobile broadband
  • Recognize how 3.4-3.6 GHz is utilized across the world
  • Identify keys for successful commercialization of LTE-Advanced in 3.4-3.6 GHz
  • Develop an eco-system and community to drive 3.5 GHz development
