DIRECTIONS FROM HEATHROW TO CAMBRIDGE

 

There are four alternatives.

 

1) Take the tube from Heathrow airport to London's Kings cross train station. From there take the train to Cambridge. There are trains every half hour. From there take a taxi to hotel. Total costs approx.£28.00 pound sterling. Approximate traveling time, excluding waiting for tube or train 2 hours.

 

2) Take a Jetlink coach from the airport to Cambridge Drummer street bus station. Walk 5 minutes to hotel. Approximate costs £20.00 pound sterling. There is a bus every hour. Approximate traveling time 2.5 hours.

 

3) The hotel can arrange for a car to pick you up from the airport. Costs=£95.00 pound sterling. Traveling time approximately 2 hours depending on time of day, and prevailing traffic conditions. If you decide to choose this option, you will need to contact the Concierge Office at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and supply the following information:

a)     exact spelling of your surname ( chauffeur will hold up a board with your name on it when exiting customs)

b)    date & time of arrival(am or pm)

c)     airline and flight number

d)    from which airport are you flying from

e)     how many in your party and how much luggage

f)      how do you wish to pay for it ( the cost can be charged to your room bill)

 

4) On arrival hire a car at the airport. Costs depending on your choice of vehicle and length of use, normally starts at £45.00 pound sterling per day. From the airport take the M3 towards London. Go on the M25 North ringroad. Take the M11 towards Cambridge (signs read Stansted airport). Get off at junction 11. Follow signs for Cambridge city centre, until Pembroke Street (you know when you are close to Pembroke street, when you see Browns restaurant on your right hand side). Turn right into Pembroke Street, it changes into Downing Street. The Hotel is on your left. Concierge will than proceed to park the car for you.
