Working Group Meeting Background:

Since 2004, the Handset Autonomy Model Working Group has been actively developing a model to predict the useful lifetime of a battery charge.   During the past six months, this team has focused on creating a complete model for the handset, including information related to:

--Battery charge

--Power management ICs

--RF devices

--Baseband processors and applications processors

--Memory

--Displays

--Other components

Working Group Meeting Goals:

The objective of this half-day session will be to introduce the first revision of the Autonomy Model and to walk through the model's functional block data to ensure that it provides a reasonable estimate for battery life for a given user profile.  By the end of this session we plan to have a model with the best possible estimates for each component of current consumption.

A second goal of the session will be to define the ongoing objectives of the working group, related to further refinements of the model for higher accuracy or additional features.
