WORKSHOP BACKGROUND

There are many options for providing mobile broadband solutions, from 802.16e to 802.20 to 3G and Beyond to proprietary as well as other solutions.

In the end, the only thing that really matters and what customers care about is that they are provided with a seamless, easy to use, reliable mobile broadband solution.

WORKSHOP GOAL

The GOAL of this workshop is to:

Focus on the specific end user customer needs, applications, issues and options for the Wireless Service Providers to deliver mobile broadband services.

AND

Further develop a common understanding of options and trade-offs for delivering such services by bringing the customers and wireless value chain members  together to explore cost effective solutions to meet customer requirements now and in the future.

TO ACHIEVE:

low cost, appropriately reliable, mobile broadband, consumer priced solutions.

Service Providers

The Service Provider's will be asked to recap the extent to which the workshop has addressed their wish lists.

  • Have we answered your questions?

  • Do you now have better insight into the tradeoffs and values for the different options?

  • Were the requirements identified by the Mobile Broadband Users what you expected?

  • Do you now have a better appreciation of the difficulties of manufacturing the equipment to meet your time and cost objectives for the different solutions? Now and in the future?

  • What gaps do you see and what should be done to address these gaps?
    (Communications and Technology)

  • What can the IWPC do to help move this process forward?
