Workshop Goal:

In-Building & Short Range Radio Applications for the enterprise and consumer represent one of the few "bright spots" in these difficult wireless industry market conditions and show promise of truly offering ubiquitous and unobtrusive communications for a world of applications.

However, there is a paradigm shift in the "air" with the availability of low cost, high data rate wireless systems.

With potentially billions of units being needed for voice and data applications such as 3G network replacements, cellular/PCS phones, laptop computers, cable replacements, cameras, toys, etc. planned in the very near future, servicing every imaginable personal and business need -- what will be required of the wireless equipment industry to support this seemingly insatiable demand?

The GOAL of this workshop is to carefully evaluate real world markets and applications for these technologies and what design and manufacturing technologies, materials and services will be needed throughout the entire supply chain to support these emerging wireless devices and systems.

SET UP BREAKOUT SESSIONS WORKING GROUPS

The group will interactively discuss and identify opportunities for future fruitful development.

We will break into small working groups and allow members to interact with like and no-so-like minded professionals.

The goal of this process is to clarify the needs and identify new opportunities for development.

Each working group will identify a leader and at the end, the leader will make a short presentation on the findings and conclusions of their group.

BREAKOUT SESSIONS

Questions to be answered:

1.  What are the gaps in:

Technology ?

Communication ?

2.  What is needed from the supply chain to address these gaps ?

3.  What can IWPC do  to assist ?

REPORTS - BREAKOUT SESSIONS

Each Working Group Leader will make a 10 minute presentation to summarize the Wish List Items and Conclusions of his/her working group.

Group will come together and have an interactive discussion to exchange and challenge ideas presented by working group leaders.

This process dramatically expands the thinking of the attendees.

TAKE AWAYS

Each person will be asked to share what they have learned in the last 2 days.

WRAP UP
&
WHAT'S NEXT

  • Recommendations for future workshop and teleconference topics.

  • Closing remarks.
