Tom Watson

Tom works with members to understand their needs and to help guide IWPC to meet those needs.

As a prior member of IWPC, Tom was co-owner and VP of Sales for Agile RF in Santa Barbara, CA, a start-up which developed BST based tunable components.

Previous commercial roles also include Project Manager at IBM which ultimately led to a journey into start-up world as Director of Engineering with LA-based Sequoia Broadband which developed a highly scalable system for managing private TV networks.

Prior to joining IBM, Tom served as a US Naval Flight Officer. Following graduation from Annapolis, he attended flight school and acquired nearly 3000 flight hours and 500 arrested carrier landings on F-14 Tomcat and F/A-18 Hornet aircraft.

Graham Carter

Graham is an independent consultant that works with members to identify working group and workshop topics which would benefit from cross-functional collaboration. Through his engagement with mobile operators, OEMs and Suppliers, he is responsible for formulating activities which drive the industry forward.

Prior to working with the IWPC, Graham was responsible for defining the global platform strategy for Mobile Devices at Agere Systems and Infineon Technologies (now Intel Mobile Communications). He was also a member of the Bluetooth SIG Board of Directors.

As a founder of Red-M, a successful start-up, pioneering advanced wireless networking solutions which was spun-out of Madge Networks, one of the world's leading computer networking companies, he was Global Product Line Manager for high-volume IT/Networking products.

Graham was originally a Design Engineer for Pye in the UK, which became part of Philips Electronics, where he spent the next 15 years in various international roles, from Field Applications Engineering and Business Development in Asia to Corporate Strategy and Planning in the Netherlands.

Graham is married with four children and is continually trying to educate the IWPC team on the finer points of the "Queens English" language.

Got lost early in his career and found himself in the microelectronics industry (first job with Kulicke & Soffa Industries, 1972).
 
Developed microelectronics packaging and assembly equipment for almost 10 years.
 
Awarded 3 US Patents.
 
Written, lectured, moderated more than 100 articles, conferences, workshops, books, studies in the electronics packaging and wireless industries for more than 30 years, worldwide.
 
Founded International Wireless Industry Consortium ™ (IWPC ™, www.iwpc.org ) in 1998, which now has more than 150 members, worldwide – the who’s who of the Wireless Industry. 
 
Organized and moderated more than 150 wireless industry workshop events since 1998, worldwide, attended by more than 9,000 industry leaders over the years.
